Description

This book aims to educate its readers - architects, engineers, urban planners - on the options available for adaptation to flood risk in the built environment. It provides a road map, set methods and key principles for developing community flood resilience. It also provides insight and advice on what data is needed to build up an accurate understanding of the flood risk context, be it at building, street or community scale. By broadening the readers’ knowledge on the topic of flood risk and resilience, this book will empower architects and other built environment professionals to take action, foster change and innovate in this field. With clear, visual / spatial examples of the variety of resilience strategies that are appropriate and applicable to a range of flood risk contexts, and richly illustrated with case studies, this book is a practical manual for architects and professionals across the built environment.
